CREATIVE DESIGNER ° VERSATILE PROFESSIONAL ° CRITICAL THINKER

Strategic graphic designer with a broad skill set and experience in virtually all mediums. Creative and detail-oriented professional with a dedication to delivering projects on time. Well-versed with the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office products and Content Management Systems. Successes achieved individually or as part of a team to offer high-level solutions to branding, marketing and communication initiatives.

Hire the Best Talent

I accept projects and clients of virtually any size – usually tackling small projects alone and tapping other resources for larger projects and those beyond my skill set. I believe in assigning work to experienced professionals. If you need a simple brochure, that’s me. If you need an instructional video, I’ll bring in some of my favorite camera operators, editors, writers and voice talent. If you have a large catalog that needs a lot of original copy and photography, let’s bring in a writer and photographer. If I’m not a good fit for your project, I’ll tell you up front and refer you to my favorite talented colleagues.

Strategic

Let’s not design something just to look pretty. Let’s choose elements to enhance and reinforce your communication. My goal is the same as yours – deliver the right messages to your specific audience.

Roots
I was born in the eastern suburbs of the Twin Cities and grew up in western Wisconsin. I went to UW-River Falls and UW-Stout where I received a BFA in Graphic Design. During college I worked as a Prepress Specialist for Helmer Printing in Beldenville and later as the Production Manager at The New Richmond Newspaper. Upon graduation, I moved back to the Twin Cities and spent seven years as a Graphic Designer and Art Director at the Best Buy corporate headquarters. Since 2004, I’ve been freelancing and taking short term contract work. I work primarily from my home office in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. I am a husband and proud father of two girls. We travel a bit and do typical Minnesota things like snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, camping, watching sports and other shenanigans.

Priorities
First and foremost, I am a husband and father. Family comes first, then clients and projects. (Then the recreation and shenanigans mentioned above.) Having said this, rest assured your projects will get done. I ALWAYS meet deadlines. I look forward to work and take every project seriously. As much as possible, I try to under-promise and over-deliver.

Availability
I currently work on a project and contract basis and I welcome projects of any size. This includes everything from a simple brochure to a new website or a full brand development. My workload varies greatly, but I always make room for small projects and welcome discussing larger contract work.

Insured
I carry professional liability insurance, more commonly known as Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance. Although I expect clients to proof and approve all work prior to publication, mistakes can be made and it’s reassuring that we are covered if there is an error which causes major financial costs.
